Edward Kazoba has signed a new two year contract to extend his stay as Sports Club Villa head coach.
Kaziba’s previous employment contract at the most successful club in the country came to an end at the end of June.
Swift Sports understands that some officials at the club were against Kaziba’s stay stating that Villa needed a new tactician to take the club forward.
This website has also learnt that his assistants Ibrahim Kirya and Nestrooy Kizito will not extend their stay at the club.
Vipers SC assistant coach Frank Mugerwa is expected to deputise Kaziba at the helms next season.
Kaziba is yet to deliver any silverware since taking charge in 2019, in his first season he helped the club finish third on the Uganda Premier League log.
The just concluded campaign was another disappointing showing as the club finished 10th and lost to Vipers SC in the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup.
Villa have so far beefed up the squad with the arrival of the 2020 Masaza Cup winning trio of Charles Bbaale, Gift Fred and Ali Bayo.
The club has however lost Derrick Ndahiro to URA FC, the left back has been their best player for the last three seasons. The others are Emmanuel Wasswa who recently joined KCCA FC while skipper Asuman Alishe and Wasswa Geoffrey are also expected to depart the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions.
