Uganda Premier league side SC Villa are contemplating on a move to switch home grounds from Bombo Military Grounds to Kavumba Recreation Grounds.
Before moving to Bombo, the 16 time league champions used Mandela National Stadium but it was taken over by the government and turned into a COVID treatment centre.
Villa have also used Masaka recreation and Mityana Ssaza Grounds during Eng. Ben Misagga’s regime but these left a section of Kampala based fans frustrated by the long distances they had to throng in order to support their team.
Kavumba currently serves as the home ground for Soltilo Bright Stars which they shared with Kitara FC in the first round before their Masindi Booma ground was cleared.
Villa are currently undergoing a management restructuring process that will see them usher in new leadership from the interim committee that has been running the team for 2 seasons now.
