Wingers Saddam Masereka and Mohammed Senoga combined to quench SC Villa’s thirst of tasting victory after nine times trying.
Masereka who had himself failed to put Villa in the lead on two occasions delivered a powerful low shot that found an unmarked Senoga who guided the ball into the net after 24 minutes of none stop action.
It was by far SC Villa’s most impressive home show after a long time. They attacked in numbers and also defended in unison with determination to get the monkey off their backs.
Their resilience was however put to test in the second period when Kyetume returned a different entity.

Jackson Mayanja introduced Robert Sentongo and Cephas Kambugu with the fast paced pair posing serious questions to the Villa defense.
Kaziba had opted for a central defense pairing of Joseph Nsubuga and Geoffrey Wasswa in the absence of the internally suspended Asuman Harishe and Gavin Kizito who was serving his second and final match for the straight red card recieved during the Vipers match.
Nsubuga and Wasswa defended in tandem but Sentongo’s trickery and experience beat them on numerous occasions only to be saved by the young custodian Martin Senkooto.
Ssenkooto was starting his second career game for SC Villa. His first was a visit to Lugogo against Police FC.
All Villa’s good work was going to be watered down in the 84th minute when a miscommunication between Geoffrey Wasswa and Ssenkooto invited Kambugu into the forbidden area and he was brought down by the pair.
Center ref Ronald Madanda pointed to the spot and Sentongo stood up to penalise the hosts.
The former Cranes striker opted for power instead of efficiency when he took a hard shot that hit the woodwork and returned into play. Nicholas Kasozi’s rebound deflected off Ndahiro’s back and went to the corner.
In the 2nd minute of additional time, Sentongo almost made amends for his wasted opportunity but Senkooto miraculously dealt with his bullet fired close to 12 yards.
Villa’s 9th win of the season takes them on 36 points and in 8th position on the table whereas Kyetume’s 13th loss of the season leaves them in the relegation shambles, 3 points behind 13th placed Busoga
