SC Villa host injury stricken UPDF in search for vengeance

Danito NSUBUGA

It will be a Bombo derby as UPDF visit their tenants SC Villa in the Uganda Premier league.

Revenge will be on agenda for SC Villa after suffering defeat at the hands of UPDF in the first round thanks to a 74th minute strike by Ezekiel Katende.

The host have however been hit with injuries and sickness to close to seven members of the starting XI.

Villa managed to put an end to a very unfortunate run of 9 games without a win when they beat Kyetume 1-0 thanks to Mohammed Senoga’s first half strike.

UPDF on the other hand were beaten 2-1 by neighbours URA at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.

Kefa Kisala was able to be reinstated in his position as head coach after being asked by the club to stand aside following a run of bad results.

Villa still have a top 5 finish in their sight, being only 6 points behind Bright Stars with 4 games left on the schedule.

UPDF aren’t far either, they are only 2 points behind Villa and they have a chance to move up to 9th if they manage to overcome Villa.
