Two first half goals from George Senkaba and Martin Kizza plus Ambrose Kirya’s second half thunderbolt saw SC Villa easily sail past giant slayers KJT FC
The highly rated Kampala region outfit failed to replicate their previous exploits of knocking out premier league bigwigs after ejecting former winners URA FC and BUL FC in the previous rounds.
SC Villa proved too big a challenge for them right from kickoff on a chilly evening at the Philip Omondi stadium Lugogo.
They fell behind as early as the 9th minute with George Senkaba’s looped header beating a helpless Nelson Kabuye who started in goal for KJT.
Before they picked themselves up, SC Villa were awarded a penalty after a KJT defender handled the ball in the forbidden area on 28 minutes which Martin Kizza calmly converted to consolidate SC Villa’s lead.
After the job looked seemingly done, Villa’s Bbosa withdrew talisman Martin Kizza for Vitalis Tabu for a rare appearance after along time in the wilderness.
Ambrose Kirya was also introduced for Allan Kyambadde and the former put the score beyond KJT’s reach with a powerful shot outside the area in the 65th minute.
It was game over, the end of KJT’s Uganda cup adventure and SC Villa joins KCCA to set up a mouthwatering menu for the semi finals of the 2018 Uganda cup.
Vipers SC will take on Kansai Plascon and Synergy will host Proline FC on the weekend of 28th and 29th April to complete the quarterfinal round.
