SC Villa have completed the signing of three 2020 Masaza Cup winning players, Swift Sports has learnt.

These are; Gift Fred, Ali Bayo ‘Arshavin’ and striker Charles Bbaale who was the tournament’s top scorer with 8 goals.

Bbaale has been a transfer target for URA but opted for SC Villa who are in dire need for strikers ahead of the near UPL season.

The left footed striker was a key player for Mbarara based Terrazzo and Tiles FC in their promotion to the FUFA Big during the 2019/20 season.

Bayo, a former St. Mary’s Kitende midfielder, has previously featured for Lungujja Galaxy in the Kampala Regional League.

Gift Fred is a central defender who has been playing for Masindi based Booma FC in the regional league. He was named the best defender of the 2019 University Football League while playing for Bugema University.

In fact, Gift scored one of the three goals in the Masaza Cup final as Gomba beat Buddu 3-1 at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Gomba was under the tutelage of coach Ibrahim Kirya who is believed to have played a role in securing the trio since he also doubles as SC Villa’s assistant coach.

SC Villa have not yet confirmed any departure of their players but Derrick Ndahiro has already left the club for URA while Geoffrey Wasswa’s short term contract expired.

The Jogoos finished 10th on the Uganda Premier League table with 36 points obtained from 27 games when the league was prematurely ended due to Covid-19.
