Mbarara City custodian will have a night to forget after being involved in two of SC Villa’s goals that saw the struggling 16 time champions earn three vital points at Mandela national stadium.
SC Villa head coach Douglas Bamweyana named both Pius Wangi and Bashir Mutanda on the bench whereas Mbarara City missed the services of their starman Paul Mucurezi.
The game was overshadowed by the calamitous Ali Kimera who gifted Villa both goals.
In the first period, Kimera failed to clear the ball perfectly and was made to pay by Albert Mugisa who excellently capitalised on the mess.
Early in the second period, the Visitors restored parity when Ibrahim Orit superbly combined with Jude Ssemugabi whose finish was top quality.
Kimera was again at it for Villa’s second and winner when he spilled John Adriko’s low cross in Ronald Magwali’s way who comfortably sent the home fans into a frenzy by firing in the second.
Villa made the following changes, John Adriko, Mike Serumaga and Bashir Mutanda were introduced on for Mugulusi Ibrahim, Mugisa Albert and Magwali Ronald.
Zaid Byekwaso and Swalik Ssegujja were withdrawn on the visitors side for Ahebwa Brian and Othieno Stephen.
Ambrose Kirya ( SC Villa) and Pitis Barenge ( Mbarara City) were both cautioned.
Victory sees Villa go to 26 points and are now six points off the drop zone whereas Mbarara City are fourth on the log with 41 points.
Villa next travel to arch rivals Express FC on Thursday 11th April while Mbarara City host Vipers SC a day before.
