The Sand Cranes recovered from their disappointing 5-1 defeat to Senegal at the 2021 Beach Soccer AFCON with a 4-3 win over neighbours Tanzania on Tuesday at the Saly Beach soccer Stadium.
Isma Kawawulo netted a brace while Emmanuel Wasswa Alex and Ssimbwa Swaleh scored the other goals as Uganda recorded their first victory at the ongoing Beach soccer AFCON.
Kawawulo is Uganda’s top scorer with three goals in two games.
A double from Jaruph Rajab Juma and Stephanie Wallis Napunalo were not enough for Tanzania on the evening.
This was the Sand Cranes second and final game of Group A who are taking part in the competition for the first time.
Tanzania are making their second appearance at the continental showpiece and will next face hosts and reigning champions Senegal on Wednesday, 26th May, 2021.
This edition of the Beach Soccer AFCON will be used as a qualification phase for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Russia.
