Following the mass exodus of players out of Express FC at the beginning of the transfer window including Captain Mukasa Musa, the club have finally managed to tie down some of the remaining senior players on long term contracts.
Most notable is defender Samuel Ssenkoomi who has also been appointed Captain of the club. Senkoomi joined Express FC on loan from URA during the 2016/17 season.
Goal keeper Emmanuel Opio has signed for 2 years, he joined Express from KCCA FC at the beginning of last season. Others include Luswata Stephen and Toya Jean Didi who have extended for two years.
Nsubuga Rashid ,Jjingo Sulaiman, Makumbi Renny ,Ochaya Shafik ,Ssebadduka Juma and Nadil Mohammed have signed three years for the club.
Midfielder Micheal Birungi has also joined in from Police on a two years deal. He and other new signings are yet to be unveiled by the club.
It’s also believed that negotiations with Vipers SC are underway for Kayiwa Ibrahim and by the time of official unveiling, a compromise will have been reached between the clubs.
Last season Express finished 6th on a 16 team log with 44 points.
