Said Kyeyune misses penalty as Police hold URA to 5th consecutive draw

URA FC 0-0 Police FC

For the second time this season, a penalty miss has been the difference between URA and 3 points.

Said Kyeyune squandered the tax collectors’ glorious chance to scoop maximum points when he blasted wide a penalty in the 59th minute.

Both the Cops and the hosts had a good share of goal scoring chances only that their finishing was wanting on the evening.

Police’s most clear cut opportunity landed to their talisman Juma Balinya who was denied by a steady James Alitho from about 8 yards in the first half.

Alitho was consequently named man of the match after pulling a couple of more fine saves including one against Johnson Odong at the resumption of the game.

Alitho’s equal number Davies Mutebi also had a busy evening thanks to brilliant strikes from Vitalis Tabu at the half hour mark and Moses Seruyidde “Kinye” 8 minutes into the second period.

Ashraf Mugume also had a chance break the tie early in the first half but his effort from close range missed target by inches with Alitho already beaten.

Sam Ssimbwa’s coached men have now played to 5 consecutive draws, 4 of which have been goalless. They remain 8th placed with 12 points.

Abdallah Mubiru’s charges also walked away with their first clean sheet of the season but made no movements from the 9th place.

Next on card for URA will be Tooro United next Tuesday while Police will play hosts to Mbarara City on Friday.
