Mbarara City has appointed Sadick Sempigi as their new head coach days after Hussein Mbalangu resigned from the role.
Ssempigi who as been serving as the assistant coach at Arua Hill confirmed his resignation on Friday, 14th January.
He is a CAF “B” licensed coach and returns to a side he once served in the capacity of assistant coach during Brian Ssenyondo and Charles Livingstone Mbabazi tenures.
Sempigi also served as head coach at Mbarara following the departure of Ssenyondo. The tactician is also a former Kooki head coach.
Mbarara were also interested in former Bright Stars head coach Paul Kiwanuka’s services but the move fell through.
He is expected to revive the side that is just four points above the relegation zone. Mbarara is currently 12th on the Uganda Premier League log with 16 points.
Sempigi’s first game in charge will be a round of 64 trip to Six O’clock on 23rd January.
