KCCA FC will have to avoid defeat in their final encounter of group A against Club Africain in Tunis to progress to the knockout phase of Caf Confederations Cup.They come into the game after a 3-1 home win against FUS Rabat.
Whereas club Africaine had a 2-0 win in Nigeria against Rivers United and have won both of their previous group home games. Mike Mutebi’s men have lost all their five away encounters on the continent, conceding 10 goals and scoring only three times.
Fresh Midfielder Saddam Ibrahim Juma who was among the scorers against FUS Rabat is confident the team will do what is required of them to advance. He says,
“This is the biggest game in the club history, since it takes us from one stage to another, a draw or win will l do for us and we are ready for the task ahead of us. The mood in the camp is 100% high and we strongly believe in our selves”.
He also reserved a message for the fans,
“The team needs your prayers, support and we know we shall make everyone back home proud”.
KCCA will rely heavily on the partnership of Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Derrick Nsibambi to look for goals, the duo has scored 10 goals on the continent between them with Sserunkuma scoring 6 and Nsibambi 4.
Kcca will however be without defender Habib Kavuma due to suspension after a red card sustained against Rivers United. CAF confirmed to the club over Kavuma’s ineligibility to play tomorrow.
KCCA are 2nd on the log with 9 points led by Club Africain who have also collected 9 points. In the same group FUS Rabat host Rivers United at home and a draw between both side will also guarantee KCCA a place in the quarterfinals.
