With only days to the mouthwatering AFCON qualifier tie between Uganda Cranes and East African neighbours Tanzania, midfielder Sadam Ibrahim Juma says that he is ready and he will relish the chance for a starting place in the senior Cranes team.
Sadam who was a mainstay in Desabre’s CHAN team, has been also an integral part of Mike Mutebi’s CAF champions league expeditions, he believes that this experience and form will be key for him if picked.
“It’s a big game and what comes in my mind is the team progress and picking maximum points on Saturday. If given a chance I will see how to help the team for better results on match day.”
“The competition in the camp is at the climax since everyone knows how important the game is for the team and so everything happens in the training before the game.”
Saddam is also glad to be among the summoned local based players for the national duty and how important it means to him.
“It’s a honour for a player in the local league to be part of the national team, it’s all about working hard. This is a great opportunity for me to be among the players called to help the national team.”
Uganda currently lead group L with 3 points and face off with the Taifa Stars at Mandela national stadium in Namboole on Saturday.
