After successfully hosting the CHAN championships of 2016, Rwanda is preparing to bid for the hosting rights of the U17 World Cup in 2019.
FERWAFA boss Vincent Nzamwita says, the East African country has all the necessary facilities to host the juniors World Cup. He explains,
“We have already submitted a formal request to Fifa to host the event and they have registered us and sent bid documents,”
“We have a dateline of 25 August to send the terms and agreement to Fifa and later start preparing the bid.” Namwiza said in an interview with BBC sport.
Hosting this even will not only benefit Rwanda but also the other East African countries and the continent at large.
The 2017 edition of the U17 World Cup will be hosted by India and it’s expected to kick off on October 6th. Africa will be represented by Ghana, Guinea, Mali and Niger.
