FUFA Women Super League newly promoted side Rines SS Women FC have announced the signing of Crested Cranes winger Amina Nababi from Makerere University.
Nababi, commonly known as the ‘Proud Lefter’ has joined Rines on a two year contract.
Nababi rose to the scene with Kawempe Muslim and was part of the team that won the inaugural FUFA Women Elite League title in 2015.
She left Kawempe during the 2018/19 season and joined Makerere University where she has been plying her trade for the past three seasons.
The exciting left footed winger guided Makerere University to their first ever title as they won the 2019 FUFA Women Cup.
She was subsequently named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) on account of her outstanding exploits.
Nababi was part of the Crested Cranes squad that featured in the 2019 Cecafa Women Championship in Tanzania. She scored one of the two goals as Uganda beat Burundi 2-0 in the third place play off to win bronze.
She was also part of the squad that represented Uganda in last year’s COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.
Rines SS WFC have also signed midfielders Joan Ainembabazi and Shadia Nakiwala from Tooro Queens and Bugiri Town View respectively.
Rines are expected to kick off the 2022 FUFA Women Super League season with an opener against Tooro Queens on 5th February at the Kabaka Kyabaggu in Wakiso.
