Big league side Kitara FC has appointed Richard Makumbi as their new head coach.

He replaces Edward Golola who had been named as a caretaker before crossing back to Vipers SC earlier this month. Golola was appointed after Sam Kawalya had left the Hoima based club after only managing the opening three games.

Makumbi who was sacked by Kenyan side Western Stima flew into the country over the weekend and his task will be to guide the club to Uganda’s topflight division this season.

He comes in with alot of experience having led several clubs in Uganda to top tier promotion, these include, SCOUL FC, Iganga Town Council, K-Mukono, Buikwe Red Stars, Fire Masters, Bunamwaya( Now Vipers SC), Bidco/BUL, Soana ( now Tooro United) and Mbarara City FC. He also helped Western Stima gain Kenyan topflight promotion last year.
