Lady Doves had their holding midfielder Sarah Nakuya sent off mid way the second half but held on to secure a draw off the Tanzanian opponents.

Simba Queens dominated the encounter from the onset but couldn’t break through thanks to Daisy Nakaziro the Lady Doves goalkeeper and her defence.

Her center back pairing had Irene Akiror and Nabilah Nakitto who replaced Gloria Namugerwa who had started the opening game against FAD of Djibouti.

Nakaziro was called into action to deny Clement Opa in a one on one situation in the 30th minute in what turned out to be the game’s most clear cut chance.

Two minutes into the second half, Ruth Kipori had a shot at goal but her sublime effort was parried away by Nakaziro.

Norah Alupo had the best chance for the Ugandan representatives with the first one coming in the 52nd minute when she missed from close range with a keeper to beat. Fazila Ikwaput hit the woodwork on the rebound.

Alupo had another attempt in the 74th minute but her long range shot kissed the cross bar.

Two minutes before Alupo’s chance, Lady Doves were reduced to 10 players after Sarah Nakuya got a second yellow for time wasting moments after receiving medical attention.

Fred Musiime the Lady Doves coach threw in Halima Kanyango and later Namugerwa for Alupo and Spencer Nakachwa respectively.

Simba Queens pushed for a winner that didn’t not come.

Congolese striker Flavine Mawette Musolo almost broke the deadlock but her goal bound effort was parried away for a corner kick in the last minute of the added four.

Lady Doves remain top of Group A tied on four points with Simba Queens but separated by a superior goal difference.

The Masindi based outfit will face Burundi’s PVP FC Buyenzi in their final game on Friday while Simba Queens will take on minnows FAD FC.
