Uganda Cranes played out to a goalless draw with neighbours Kenya’s Harambee Stars in a group E World Cup qualifier contest at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.

The game was Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic first competitive game since his return.

The two sides produced minimal goal scoring chances.

After just 7 minutes into the game, Uganda was forced into an early change after Halid Lwaliwa got injured and was replaced by Express FC skipper Enock Walusimbi

Early in the first half, Kenya’s Joseph Okumu brought down Milton Karisa at the edge of the 18 yards box and the center referee Ismail Mahmood Ali awarded a free kick.

Micho instructed Bobosi Byaruhanga to take the free kick but Joseph Ochaya vehemently insisted and took it blasting above and beyond the bar.

In the second half, Uganda made a double change with Ibrahim Orit and Mustafa Kizza replacing Moses Waiswa and Joseph Ochaya respectively.

Yunus Sentamu was also introduced on in the closing stages for Milton Karisa while skipper Emmanuel Okwi limped off through injury.

Like it was on 8th October, 2011 at Mandela National Stadium during the 2012 AFCON qualification campaign, the two East African sides again settled for a barren stalemate.

Uganda will next host Mali on Monday at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende while Kenya travel to Rwanda.
