Proline maintain grip on the top in stalemate with Kiboga young

David GOMBE

Kiboga Young and Proline FC played to a goalless draw at Bamusuuta S.S playground in Kiboga.

The point earned keeps Proline at the top of the Rwenzori group and they are in pole position to gain automatic qualification.

The visitors looked more threatening in the first period with Bright Anukani, Ivan Bogere and Ibrahim Wamannah troubling the visitors defence only to be denied by custodian Shatif Magoola.

In the second period, the home side made numerous attacks through Brian Mugume but Proline goalkeeper Hassan Matovu was equal to the task.

At Kabale Municipal Stadium, Kabale Sharp comfortably beat relegated Ntinda United 2-0, courtesy of Dickson Nuwamanya and Bosco Kyakuwa goals.

With little to play for this season, already relegated Bumate United with 10 men frustrated Dove to a 2-2 stalemate at Bundibugyo.

Proline FC stay top of Rwenzori group with 38 points and only one separates them with second placed Kansai Plascon.

Only three teams will gain topflight football at the end of the season, the leader from each group ( Elgon and Rwenzori) automatically qualifies while the third team via a promotional play off joins the two.

Ivan Bogere ( Proline ) leads the scorers charts with 13 goals while Kitara’s George Ssenkaba is on 11.
