FIFA U-17 Women World Cup Qualifiers
Ethiopia vs Uganda (Agg. 0-2)
Bahir Dar Stadium, Ethiopia
Time : 4:00pm
The Uganda U-17 Women’s team will take on their Ethiopian counterparts on Sunday afternoon in Bahir Dar in the second leg of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The Junior Crested Cranes lead 2-0 on aggregate after winning the first leg at Lugogo two weeks ago thanks to captain Juliet Nalukenge and Catherine Nagadya.
Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi the team’s head coach says his charges will be targeting nothing but another win over the Ethiopians.
” Our first ambition here is we have to get a win. We came with a 2-0 victory from home so we just have to maintain it then we win the second leg also.”
” Ethiopia was not an easy team when we faced them. They just lost concentration in the first half but picked up and outplayed as in the second half. They have good players. Generally we looked at our mistakes and corrected them” He adds.
Juliet Nalukenge, the team’s skipper and lead striker echoes her coach’s words.
She confidently says, ” We are very ready and focused for the game. So we want a win here nothing else and we shall get it.”
Nalukenge is expected to lead Uganda’s charge for goals together with her partners in crime Fauzia Najjemba, Margret Kunihira and Shakira Nyinagahirwa.
If Uganda emerge as the aggregate winners over Ethiopia, they will face neighbors Tanzania in the next round.
