Police, Mbarara City meet in attempt to bury losing streak

Bottom placed Police FC take on Mbarara City at Lugogo in quest to end their poor start to the season.

The Cops have lost six games on the bounce and remain one of the two sides yet to register victory in the league. The other being Soltilo Bright Stars.

They lost to Vipers, BUL FC, Wakiso Giants, SC Villa, Express FC and most recently Onduparaka, 1-0 in Arua.

Mbarara City on the other hand have also lost all their recent three games to BUL (1-0), UPDF FC (1-0) and Vipers (2-1) at Kakyeka.

The Ankole Lions are 12th with six points and will be seeking for their third victory of the season.

Team News

Police will be without midfielder Yusuf Ssozi who was sent off in the defeat to Onduparaka last week.

Goalkeeper Abdul Kimera and defender Hassan Muhamood are ruled out by injury.

Mbarara City will be without Derrick Onyai and Frank Kalule who are injured while left back Jasper Aheebwa continues to serve his suspension.

Police have managed to win two of the eight previous meetings with Mbarara City.

Mbarara City have won four of those eight meetings while the other two have ended in draws.

Last season, defender Hassan Muhamood scored a hat trick to give Police a 3-1 win while Mbarara City walked away with a 1-0 win at Kakyeka.

Police will be looking up to their skipper Tony Mawejje and their offensive options Brian Mayanja Mululi, Johnson Odong and Juma Balinya for inspiration.
