Police FC 3-1 Busoga United
Police FC came from a goal down to beat Busoga United 3-1 and subsequently register their first win of the season after 11 games played.
Arafat Kakonge, Brian Mayanja Mululi and Juma Balinya scored for the Cops while Anwar Ntege had put Busoga United into an early lead.
Ntege converted from the spot after being fouled by defender George Kiryowa in the 14th minute of the game.
This goal was his 5th of the season.
Police found the equalizer at the stroke of halftime through youthful midfielder Kakonge who headed home perfectly from an Emmanuel Mugume cross.
The second half start saw Police introduce Mayanja Mululi and later Balinya together with Duncan Seninde in a bid to find the winning goal.
Mayanja capitalized on Busoga United’s poor defending to give the Cops a deserved lead in the 66th minute.
Balinya put the game to bed with a penalty after Mayanja was fouled in the area in the 81st minute.
Goalkeeper Tom Ikara was named the man of the match for his outstanding saves that kept Police in the game.
The win took Police to six points and off the bottom of the table to the 15th position while Busoga United now sit a point and place above the Cops.
Busoga, who have now lost five games on a trot, will host SC Villa on Tuesday 21st December in their next game.
Police will visit lowly placed Tooro United who have now lost nine games in row.
