Police FC on the verge of signing Gift Ali and KCCA’s Douglas Kisembo

After performing an overhaul on his squad to enable him challenge for the new season, Police’s Abdallah Mubiru has so far managed to acquire 20 of the desired squad of 23 players.

Loan deals of Martin Mpuuga , Paul Wila and Hakim Ssenkumba have been turned into permanent deals and they have further acquired the services of left back Aggrey Madoi from Vipers SC on loan, experienced Midfielder Juma Balinya from
Lweza FC and a host of talented success hungry youngsters from the lower divisions led by the impressive Albert Mugisa signed from Ndejje University.

With 3 spots left to be filled, the Police tactician aspires to sprout them to the 3 departments of the field by targeting one goal keeper, a midfielder and a defender with preference for a full back. He has earmarked KCCA FC’s Douglas Kisembo or Villa’s Yasin Mugabi and Proline’s midfield dynamo Gift Ali.

When asked to expound on the issue, Mubiru said.


“We are targeting the acquisition of a loan deal for KCCA FC ‘s Douglas Kisembo and negotiations are in advanced stages, We also aspire to make Yasin Mugabi’s loan deal from Villa permanent but he still has issues to sort out with SC Villa.

“On Gift Ali, we are waiting for him to sort himself out and we hope by Tuesday next week, we shall have finalised everything with his transfer. “

Swift Sports also ran reports about Police’s interest in taking on out of KCCA contract midfielder Vincent Kayizzi and Mubiru clarified on the same issue,



“It’s true we contacted him and explained to him about our philosophy and the desire to incorporate him into it but he seemed not impressed with our project, perhaps he will have a second thought about our offer but we are ready to move on and look at other options to bolster our preparations for the new season.”


“We are also currently well covered with that part of midfield and looking now to strengthen in the defensive positions especially the right full back. “


Police are planning to hold more pre season games especially with the top tier teams and they expect to hold a training camp in 3 weeks time from now.
