Police FC have been relegated from the Uganda Premier league after a crushing 5-2 defeat to BUL FC on Saturday at the Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The Cops had spent 27 years in the topflight division.

Goals from Simon Peter Oketch, Martin Aprem, Owen Mukisa and a brace from Ibrahim Nsimbe were enough to sink the 2005 Uganda Premier league champions.

Frank Kalanda scored the Cops only goals of the contest as they go down with just one game to the climax of the season.

Kalanda has now scored five goals in two games though his brilliant form was not enough to save the Cops from relegation.

Police join Tooro United and Mbarara City who were also relegated from the Uganda Premier league.

The Cops stay in 14th place with 28 points in 29 games. They will end their 27 year journey in the topflight with an away fixture to Uganda Premier league champions Vipers on 21st May at Kitende.

Meanwhile, BUL FC who are on the verge of a second consecutive Stanbic Uganda Cup final will next host Booma FC on Wednesday in the second leg of the competition’s semifinal before ending their UPL campaign against Villa on 21st May.
