POLICE 3-1 MBARARA CITY: Defender Muhamood Hassan puts the Ankole Lions to the sword

Defender Hassan Muhamood scored a hat trick as Uganda Police Football Club rallied from behind to edge Mbarara City 3-1 at Lugogo Stadium.

Jude Ssemugabi had put the Ankole Lions in the lead on 27 minutes off Edwok’s well delivered cross.

Abdallah Mubiru reacted quickly by with drawing Duncan Seninde and Muwadda Mawejje for Hassan Wasswa and Mubarak Nsubuga respectively.

The subsitutes paid off with three minutes to halftime when Hassan put the game to level by heading home Johnson Odong’s cheeky pass.

In the 61st minute Hassan scored the second of the day with a rebound header after Gerald Kiryowa’s initial effort had hit the cross bar

His third of the day came six minutes later ensuring that Cops bounce back to winning ways and move on with all 3 points.

The Cops now have 23 points from 11 games and are fourth on the table. They next visit record champions SC Villa on Saturday at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.

The defeat leave Mbarara city 13th on the table with ten points and their next tie is against the defending champions Vipers SC on Saturday.
