2:2 the score as Maroons fc hold Police fc in an entertaining game at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
It was such a dramatic piece. A game that begun simple with both teams having balanced possession of the ball in the first quarter of the game.
The first live chance of the game fell to Maroons only 18 minutes into the game when William Kiibi struck at goal but Davis Mutebi was all out to save that.
Pius Obuya scored the first goal of the game 5 minutes later from a well delivered assist off Solomon Walusimbi to put the visitors ahead.
Trouble was not about to end for the hosts as Solomon Walusimbi scored one to his name only 5 minutes later to seal Maroons’ lead in the game.
Yasin Mugume pulled one back for Police to give them a life line off a Ben Ocen assist in the 37th minute.
The game became trickier by the second period. Police looked to have gained momentum, Maroons’ defenders Richard Ayiko,Eddie Kapampa and Allan Anguyo had a very busy period but they worked tirelessly to let no opportunity for Police.
Ben Ocen scored a penalty when defend Allan Anguyo pulled down Norman Ogik in the goal area 11 minutes into the second half to level matters for Police fc.
In the 77 minute ,referee Brian Miiro Nsubuga stopped play at a time when Pius Obuya had only goalkeeper to beat to award a free kick to Maroons after Steven Mugisha brought down Godwin Kitagenda at the edge of the box area.
With a point earned , Police still lead the log of 16 teams with 17points and Maroons lie 9th with 13 points.
