Paul Kayongo re elected Uganda woodball president

The Uganda Woodball Federation has re-elected Paul Mark Kayongo as their President for the next five years.

The development was confirmed on Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at the annual Uganda Woodball Federation assembly at Balintuma, Kampala where the body’s head offices are located.

Kayongo who is the founding president of the Federation was unopposed as he landed another term in office.

For starters, Kayongo has played a tremendous role in promoting Woodball in the country and on the African continent with countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Gabon, DR Congo and Cameroon all embracing the game.

Vicent Kisenyi and Shanaz Luwedde who were also unopposed are the first and second Vice President respectively.

Collins Ssemmanda has been retained as the General Secretary of the Federation for the next five years while Sarah Mpiima will again serve as the treasurer.

Meanwhile, the Federation approved a 2021 financial budget of 1.6bn shillings. Last year, the Woodball activities were halted by the outbreak of the deadly global Covid-19 pandemic.
