Known evangelist Pastor Samuel Kakande, a passionate Express FC fan has offered financial support to help the team in the hardened battle to beat relegation this season.
At his church, Kakande handed 12 millions in cash to the club management. He also promised to pay 1 million for each goal scored by club, pay 300,000 winning bonus for players, buy five new players next season and to facilitate a foreign coach for 6 months next season.
Kakande warned the officials not to forget him and when they do the club will be relegated. He also confirmed that he has been an Express fan since his birth
“I don’t support any football team, I only support Express and will die an Express fan, but whenever you forget me just know you will be relegated, when you remember me, you will always be on top.”
He also told officials to look for Lukwago Junior, Dennis Magoba and bring back Ismail Kazibwe, who is currently playing for Kajjansi FC back to the club.
The event was attended by Express FC coaches, players, club management and musician Geoffrey Lutaaya who was among those who initiated the save Express campaign festival.
During the save Express Fc festival held at Wankulukuku last week on Friday, an estimation of 23 million was collected from the cash monies, pledges and gate collection.
The Wankulukuku based side was scheduled to take on Vipers SC at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende in their next league encounter but the game was postponed to a date not yet communicated.
The adjustments were made to allow the Hippos (U20 National team) prepare for the game against South Sudan in the U-20 AFCON qualifiers on Saturday 31st March at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo.
