Paidha Black Angels and Kitara FC will tussle it out for the third and final UPL promotion place on Sunday 20th May. Both sides emerged victors in their respective semi final play offs at Lugogo.
Paidha Black Angels thumped Vialli Bainomugisha’s Kabale Sharp FC 3-0 whereas Kitara FC edged Kyetume FC 3-1 on penalties after 1-1 full-time draw.
Yuda Mugalu broke the deadlock for Paidha Black Angels in the 33rd minute through a good run past Johnson Turinawe and Saidi Mugumba.
Dickson Nuwamanya, Clifford Rukanga and Dickson Nuwamanya created several attacks for Kabale Sharp FC but were not good enough for a break through
Skipper Cromwell Rwothomio doubled the lead for Paidha Black Angles in the 48th minute through a good run past Johnson Turinawe and Francis Ndihairwe finding Sulaiman Kibalama off his line.
It was in the 54 minute when Yusuf Ssozi scored the third giving Allan Kabonge’s side a comfortable win.
Kyetume FC took the lead in the 45th minute of the game through skipper Yusuf Ssaka.
In the 48th and 61st minute Komakech Serial and Julius Rulinda came in for Billy Alinda and Rogger Miller respectively and this paid off.
In the 70th minute Derrick Tekkwo found an equaliser by heading home past helpless Ismael Zziwa.
Both sides pressed hard for a break but in vain till the normal time game ending 1-1.
In the spot kicks Bunyoro based side won 3-1 booking a place to play the qualification play off of the FUFA Big League.
Paidha Black Angels will be taking on Kitara FC on Sunday 20th-May -2018 at Startimes Stadium Lugogo 1:00pm in a struggle for the third slot.
Nyamityobora FC will also face off with Ndejje University to determine the overall FUFA Big League champion at 4:00pm.
