Buganda Kingdom Minister of Sports, Leisure and Recreation Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu is optimistic that the prestigious Masaza Cup competition will be staged this amidst the current Covid-19 lockdown.
” As The Buganda Kingdom through our Masaza Cup competitions committee, we are doing everything possible to see that we have prestigious Masaza Cup tournament this year.”
We shall avail the plan to the Kingdom administrative structure and after to everyone. ”
Ssekabembe has also urged the government to emphasise on vaccination to see that the country returns to normal times.
“I urge the government and Parliament should emphasis vaccination and this will help us overcome various lockdowns in the country.”
“If this is not done we are likely to lose sponsors who support various competitions in the country.”
“I believe through vaccination the country will return to normal just like it is with European countries, they even held superb European championship this very year.”

The 2020 Masaza Cup competition was played behind closed doors at Njeru Technical Centre with the final held at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende with a limited number of fans.
Gomba beat Buddu 3-1 in the final to clinch their fifth Masaza Cup trophy.
