Vipers head coach Michael Nam Ouma has called out his side to stand tall and be counted as they face Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien in a Goliath Vs David affair.

The Venoms will be seeking to advance for the group stages of the CAF confederations cup for the first time in history after being eliminated from the CAF champions league at the hands of CS Constantine of Algeria.

They have to win or force a scoring draw in Sfax if they are to write their names in the history books and thus Ouma believes that if they manage to correct a few mistakes from the first leg, there is a big chance for them to progress.

” We have had some people writing us off after failing to win the home game, however this is the right opportunity for you to make things right therefore take the game as a platform to showcase your talents rather than a threat to what you are capable of doing”.

“Many talk about Sfaxien’s brilliant records in the competition but every good thing with a beginning must end so be part of our hosts’ setback with a massive result and football records are not only created but also broken”

Said Ouma as quoted by the official club website.

Vipers will not only have to be inspired by Ouma’s pre match talk but also be ready to outplay and outscore the Tunisian giants who have won the CAF confederations cup on 3 occasions ( 2007, 2008 and 2013) and 3 times finalists in the CAF champions league.

They eliminated Zambia’s Green Buffaloes 4-2 on aggregate to set up a meeting with Vipers.

Michael Ouma is expected to hand a rare start to Aggrey Madoi to deputise for the more experienced Yayo Lutimba who did not make the trip.
