Former Uganda cranes coach Micho’s side Orlando pirates beat Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 away from home at Loftus to claim back to back wins in the Absa Premier league.

It took Micho’s men two minutes to find the opener when Sundowns defence failed to clear a corner and were punished by Ntsikelelo Nyauza before Mpho Makola doubled Pirates lead in the 18th minute.

Eight minutes to halftime Percy Tau capitalized on pirates poor defending to reduce the deficit for the home side.

Into the second half Sundowns were rampant and created numerous chances. Anthony Laffor had a golden opportunity in the 65th minute when he was released by Percy Tau but the talisman blasted over with the goalkeeper to beat.

In the 82nd minute Pirates put the icing on the cake when Luvuyo Memela turned a stunner off Ugandan custodian Denis Onyango to make it 3-1.

By the end of the 90, goals from Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Mpho Makola and Luvuyo Memela were enough to secure three points for the Buccaneers.

Despite defeat today the Brazilians stay top of the log of the Absa Premier league with 31points while victory takes Pirates in third with 26 points.
