2016 African champions Mamelodi Sundowns faced a frustrating night at their own home when they failed to beat Guinean champions Horoya who joined Wydad Casablanca out of group C.

Mamelodi needed nothing less than victory but failed to dispatch a stubborn Horoya. Efforts from Jeremy Brockie , Gaston Sirino and Tebogo Langerman were all fruitless.
It was the Guineans who instead came closest to breaking the deadlock but Ugandan goal keeper Denis Onyango pulled off a superb save to block Brefo Mensah’s free kick in the 57th minute.
From group A, 8 time winners Al Ahly edged KCCA in a 7 goal thriller to join Esperence Tunis in the quarter finals.
