A late contentious penalty awarded to KCCA FC in the dying minutes of extra time led to the abandonment of an entertaining match at the Green light stadium in Arua.
The fate of the match will now be resolved by the FUFA competitions and disciplinary committees.
With the game destined to end in a two all stalemate Hamza Geriga apperead to have shoved Brian Aheebwa in the forbidden area which prompted Ronald Madanda to point to the penalty spot.
Onduparaka players joined by their fans invaded the pitch protesting the call which resulted into calling for security that used rubber bullets and tear gas to calm the situation.
Rashid Okocha who was returning from a three match suspension had given the hosts an early lead in the 12th minute.
Three minutes later Arafat Usama equalized off Sadat Anaku’s cross scoring his first goal in the top tier.
The visitors were put ahead six minutes later by Anaku after heading home off Herbert Achai’s cross.
Captain Muhammad Shaban levelled the game from the spot in the 43th minute following another controversial decision that pinned Ashiraf Mugume to have handled the ball in the box.
Onduparaka FC temporarily remain in the 12th position with 12 points and will next play Busoga United on 5th-January at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.
KCCA FC remain on 28 points in the second position with a point below current table leaders Vipers SC.
They host Mbarara City FC on 5th-January-2022 at MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo.
