Just a day after signing Karim Ndugwa and midfielder Rajab Kakooza, Onduparaka have managed to capture the signature of goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato from Bright stars on a two year contract.
Sebwato was instrumental in Bright stars’ struggle to survive relegation in the 2016/17 season and scored two goals for the club in the same season notably against JMC Hippos in the last match of the season.
He brings experience and expertise to a cluster that includes goalkeepers Richard Anyama and Nisar Kasim.
Ever since Alionzi Nafian joined URA from Onduparaka, the caterpillars have had issues in the goalkeeping department. Richard Anyama has always been injury prone while second choice goalkeeper Nisar Kasim’s performance has been questionable.
His new coach Livingstone Mbabazi says,
“Sebwato is an experienced player who will help us in the goalkeeping area, last season we conceded more goals than we scored, so am pleased he has joined us”.
Sebwato has also played for Kcca FC, SC Villa, Coastal Union in Tanzania before joining Kawempe based side Bright stars in 2016.
Onduparaka finished 5th last season despite being league debutants collecting 45 points, scoring 33 goals and conceding 41.
