Onduparaka confirm Kagiri, Akena signings

SINAN RAJUB SENOGA

Onduparaka FC have announced the signing of goalkeeper Michael Kagiri and defender Steven Akena Junior.

Kagiri acquired from URA FC signed a contract of two years while Akena signed a one year but renewable contract.

For starters, Kagiri was in between sticks when regional league side Kajjansi United eliminated Vipers from last season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup on penalties.

He has previously turned out for St. Julian and St. Mary’s Kitende, KB Lions, Lweza FC and D.R. Congo’s AS Newtil.

Kagiri is expected to compete with Austin Atiino Opoka and Stephen Ogiramoi for the club’s number one slot in goal.

Akena, also formerly at Ndejje United is primarily a right-back but can play as a central defender as well.
