Onduparaka agree terms to secure move for Stephen Akena

Uganda Premier League club Onduparaka Football club have agreed terms with right back Stephen Akena.

Swift Sports understands that Akena will sign a two year employment contract with the Arua based side.

Akena has previously featured for Ndejje University and Uganda People’s Defence Forces Football club (UPDF FC).

He was instrumental for Ndejje University as they gained topflight football during the 2017/18 Big League season.

The Arua based side has beefed up their squad with new recruits Simon Okot, Stephen Ogiramoi, Oketch Emmanuel, Emmanuel Odur, Gabriel Matata, Kennedy Atibuni, Jerry Jakisa, Bonny Musema, Augustine Opoka, Oscar Agaba, Kenneth Makara, Jasper Okello and Shaban Wasswa.

Onduparaka will be under the stewardship of Bainomugisha Vialli who was appointed on a three year employment contract at the start of the current transfer window.

The Arua outfit finished eighth on the Uganda Premier League table last season with 31 points from 25 games played as the league was ended due to the deadly global coronavirus pandemic.
