Ondupakara hard tackling midfielder Ivan Mboowa will be sidelined for a period close to one month after sustaining a rib injury in Ondupakara’s last fixture against BUL FC at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
Mboowa had came on as a 67th minute substitute replacing an injured Ezra Bida before he received a harsh challenge ten minutes later. He, however soldiered on till the final whistle but it has been revealed that he will be out of action for a while.
Speaking to www.swiftsportsug.com in an interview, Mboowa says has been briefed to rest for a period close to one month as he is undergoing medication.
” I have been advised by the doctors to rest for almost one month as am receiving treatment and several checkups this leaves me behind in Arua ahead of our next game against Kirinya Jinja SS in Jinja.”
The former BUL FC midfielder also wished his teammates good luck as they take on their subsequent task in Jinja,
“It is such a sad moment that I can not be with my fellow team mates after sustaining a nasty injury against BUL FC but I wish my team all the best as they take on our next opponent. Hopefully we can win the game and keep chasing the top 3 teams possibly and the league title itself.”
“I have a lot of confidence in my fellow players and I believe they can execute the job very well though I think I would have been part of them to lay a hand in helping my club.” He adds.
Mboowa is likely to miss close to 4 league games which include two away fixtures against Kirinya Jinja SS and UPDF and two home games against SC Villa and Masavu FC.
Onduparaka FC lies fourth on the AUPL table with 29 points from 18 games played. They will be taking on Kirinya Jinja SS on Saturday 3rd March 2018 at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe in their next fixture.
