Ugandan pacy attacker Francis Olaki was on target for his side Extension Gunners in a 1-1 draw against title chasing Jwaneng Galaxy at the Lobatse Sports Complex under floodlights.
Striker Patrick Kaunda gave Jwaneng Galaxy an early lead in the 13th minute through a neat strike but Francis Olaki struck home a leveller 12 minutes later.
Olaki’s strike took his season tally to 8 goals in the league and would have scored a second one on the evening but missed on a glorious chance a minute later after scoring.
The second half saw, Jwaneng Galaxy attacking relentlessly for a breaker and the pressure exerted paid off in the 55th minute when Gunners’ Desire Bafana handled the ball in the box to lead to a penalty.
Patrick Kaunda however missed out on scoring Galaxy’s second when his penalty was consequently saved by the Gunners custodian Katlego Mbise.
The one-all stalemate leaves Olaki and his teammates 8th on the log with 33 points garnered from 25 games.
Elsewhere, Ugandan midfield kingpin Ivan Ntege was a 70th minute substitute in Township Rollers’ 3-3 draw against Sharps Shooting Stars. Ntege replaced Bogosi Mfila with the scoreline at 3-2 in Rollers’ favour but suffered a later set back conceding in the 89th minute.
Township Rollers are still top of the table with 53 points gathered from 24 games. Jwaneng Galaxy is second with only 3 points shy from Rollers at the same number of games played.
The two sides will face off in their next league fixture on Monday 16th April in a title decider with 6 games left to the league climax.
