Oketch’s stoppage time equaliser earns BUL a point at Kitende

Simon Peter Oketch scored a late goal as BUL FC picked a point to deny Vipers maximum points on Saturday at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

It was a missed opportunity for Robertinho Oliviera coached side to move back to the summit after KCCA FC’s 1-0 defeat at URA.

Both sides needed perfect responses from their disappointing 1-0 defeats to Arua Hill and Wakiso Giants respectively earlier this week.

Walter Ochora own goal early in the second half gave Vipers a deserved lead.

But second half substitute Oketch capitalized on a Allan Kayiwa howler to score in the 90th minute of the contest.

Kayiwa will take the big blame for BUL FC’s goal when he lost the ball in his own half.

In the first period Ceasar Manzoki set up Yunus Sentamu who failed to strike past BUL custodian Saidi Keni.

Second half substitutes Ibrahim Orit and Najib Yiga had numerous chances to extend the hosts lead.

Vipers stay second on the Uganda Premier League table with 30 points garnered in 14 games only one below leaders KCCA FC.

BUL FC who avoided a second successive defeat stay fourth with 26 points after 15 games.
