Ogwang hits two as SC Villa overpower Mbarara city

SC Villa will never have an easier game as they did today against Mbarara city on their first home game of the season.

Edwardo Kaziba’s men knew it was their field day when referee Siraje Mpyangu pointed to the penalty spot after Goffin Oyirwoth had been brought down in the penalty area.

Derrick Ndahiro calmly slotted the ball home past the helpless Mohammed Sekkeba after only 20 minutes of play.

Villa were presented another opportunity 10 minutes later when new signing Isaac “Falcao” Ogwang met a spilt over ball from Sekkeba to extend Villa’s lead.

The former Buddu and Gomba hitman proved his worth again with a powerful header to score his second of the evening and Villa’s 3rd.

The first period ended with Villa dominating not only the scores but also possession and the other match statistics.

Former Villa hitman Bashir Mutanda who was facing his former paymasters for the first time had a few opportunities to punish them but Meddie Kibirige stood tall whenever called upon.

Villa move 3rd on top of the log behind KCCA and UPDF FC, whereas Mbarara city remain in the bottom half of the league having gained only one point.

Edward Kaziba’s charges will next travel to URA FC on Saturday while Mbarara City will face KCCA FC on Friday at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
