Onduparaka FC have completed the signing of striker Gabriel Matata on a one year renewable contract.

Matata returns to Onduparaka from regional league side Mvara Boys having previously featured for the Onduparaka Youth team (Ondunyiri) in 2018.

Touted as the next big thing in West Nile, Matata has been a transfer target of a number of Uganda Premier League sides but settled with the Caterpillars.

He guided Mvara Boys to the Round of 32 of the Uganda Cup finish after eliminating Uganda Premier League outfit Bul FC in the Round of 64.

Matata joins new recruits at the club who are Bony Musema, Kennedy Atibuni, Augustine Akoch, Nelson Opio, Jasper Okello and right back Jakisa Jerry.
