Richard Wasswa Bbosa is the new coach of UPL side Express Football Club as of Tuesday 4th February 2020.
Bbosa takes over from George Ssimwogerere who was shown the exit door following a string of poor results.
” The head coach of Express FC George Ssimwogerere has departed the club, as of today after mutual agreement with Express SC board.” reads part of letter signed by board member Ssubi Kiwanuka.
” On behalf of Express, I thank Coach Sim and outgoing members of the technical team for the work done. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
” Coach Richard Wasswa Bbosa shall forthwith take over as head coach of Express FC. Welcome Coach Bbosa and the new technical team.”
Bbosa’s immediate task will be guiding the club from the jaws of relegation in the final 10 games of the season.
He returns to a side he played for as a midfielder and last coached in November 2016.
Bbosa will work with former Express players James Odoch as his immediate deputy and Sam Kawalya as his goalkeeping coach.
His predecessor Ssimwogerere was appointed last year in February replacing Kefa Kisala but failed to navigate the Red Eagles back to the rails.
Ssimwogerere has been in charge of Express in 33 games winning 11 of them and drawing seven times. He lost 15 games.
Time and again the relationship between Ssimwogerere and the club fans has been a bitter one. Perhaps it’s one of the other reasons why he has been relieved of his duties.
Express who are now 13th on the table with 21 points, will travel to Arua to take on Onduparaka on Friday 7th February.
