Obenchan, Kaddu score as KCCA put Bright Stars to the sword

12-time league champions KCCA FC defeated Bright Stars 2-0 to go top of the table thanks to Filbert Obenchan and Patrick Kaddu.

Obenchan opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a sublime header off a Mustafa Kizza well delivered cross.

Muzamir Mutyaba almost made it 2-0 with a screamer but agonizingly missed the target by inches.

Muwadda Mawejje also laid a routine cross that was unfortunately squandered by Allan Kyambadde.

Bright Stars’ Martin Kizza and Alfred Onek, KCCA’s Eric Senjobe and Filbert Obenchan were cautioned for unsporting behavior.

At the start of the second half, Fred Kajoba made a double substitution bringing on Augustine Kacancu and Brian Kayanja for Mahad Kisekka and Aggrey Kirya to pursue for an equalizer.

Muzamir Mutyaba was withdrawn for Mike Mutyaba while Muwadda Mawejje paved way for Patrick Kaddu in the 68th minute.

Kajoba then brought on John Kokas Opejo for defender Farouk Katongole moments later.

Mike Mutyaba was later forced out by injury and subsequently replaced by Jackson Nunda who gave Bright Stars defence hard time.

Patrick Kaddu doubled the lead in the 83rd minute to put the game beyond Bright Stars’ reach.
