Nsibambi optimistic of KCCA FC’s title defence.

KCCA FC will begin their tittle defence against prisons side Maroons FC on 12th September at The Star times stadium Lugogo.

After the departure of top scorer Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Derrick Nsibambi remains as the biggest source of goals for the defending Champions.

kcca will also represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League and they will be looking to better last season’s performance when they fell shot of qualifying for the group stages after falling to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Center forward insists there should not be any panic after the exit of some senior players like Tom Masiko, Ivan Ntege, Sulaimon Akinyemi and Vincent Kayizzi. He says,

“It’s a challenge but players come and go and the club remains. Those who stay carry the responsibility. We must now trust the coaches and have trust in the players who have remained at the club”.

” Losing team mates and colleagues is quit challenging for sure but i wish all of them the best at their new work places.

“This is a job and anyone would try had to earn a good and decent living. I just wish all of them the best of luck”.

” Its obviously a hard task but we are going to work hard to defend our titles. All the players available are good enough to do the job”.

He concluded by calling upon fans to give them all the necessary support and trust.

“I personally expect to deliver and hope to work for the best. I call upon our fans to keep the trust in the team and continue giving us the necessary support and courage. Our future is much brighter”.

Nsibambi joined KCCA 4 your years ago from Kireka United as a novice and he recently renewed his contract with KCCA. He has come of age and he is expected to lead the line for the team as they embark on their tittle defence.
