NPP: Kawempe Muslim crowned Champions of Kampala Region


Boys: Kawempe Muslim 0(5) – 0(4) Kakungulu Memorial
Girls: Kawempe Muslim 2-0 Uganda Martyrs Lubaga

Kawempe Muslim Senior Secondary School were crowned the champions of Kampala Region in the National Post Primary Schools Qualifiers.

Kawempe Muslim under the tutelage of coach Ayub Khalifa and Moses Nkata emerged winners in both the Boys and Girls categories in the finals played at Old Kampala.

In the boys category, Kawempe edged Kakungulu Memorial 5-4 on penalties following a goalless stalemate in normal time.

Joseph Mukiibi the Kawempe goalkeeper saved Akram Mubiru’s penalty to ensure the emphatic victory for Ayub Khalifa’s charges.

Kawempe had knocked out Uganda Martyrs Lubaga while Kakungulu Memorial ousted rivals Kibuli in the semi final stage.

In the girls category, Kawempe maintained their dominance by defeating Uganda Martyrs Lubaga 2-0 in the final.

Strikers Juliet Nalukenge and Samalie Nakachwa scored the all important goals for the Kawempe school side.

Kawempe had edged Katuuso Community College in the semi finals while Uganda Martyrs eliminated Gadaffi Integrated School.

The four teams in each will represent Kampala region in the National Post Primary schools final tournaments to be held in Mbale (Girls) and Jinja (Boys).

Boys Representatives: Kawempe Muslim, Kakungulu Memorial, Kibuli SS and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga

Girls Representatives: Kawempe Muslim, Uganda Martyrs, Katuuso Community College and Gaddafi Integrated School
