Ugandan weightlifter Julius Ssekitoleko left a note in his accommodation room in Izumisano Osaka giving reasons for his disappearance.
According to Japan Times, the 20 year old left a note saying he hoped to work in Japan because life is difficult in Uganda.
Ssekitoleko was found missing in his room on Friday and Police has already began the search for the weightlifter.
He was due to return home early next week after missing out on a slot in the 67Kg weight category at the global games.
In Japan, he was set to become the country’s ninth lifter at the global games.
The Games are scheduled to open next week but spectators have been barren from all events in Tokyo and surrounding areas and be allowed into just a handful of venues outside the Capital.
