No Bagoole, Gift Ali as McKinstry names provisional CHAN squad

Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan McKinstry has named his 34 man provisional squad for the forthcoming CHAN tournament to be held in Cameroon.

Busoga United’s David Bagoole and KCCA’s Gift Ali are the surprise exclusions in the team while goalkeeper Charles Lukwago is among despite an injury concern.

The core of the Cranes squad that featured in the CECAFA tournament has been maintained with only four not summoned, that is Allan Okello, Joel Madondo, Ben Ocen, Nicholas Kasozi and Yusuf Ssozi.

Julius Poloto, Herbert Achai, Bright Stars’ Godwin Buule Kiwanuka, Brian Aheebwa of Mbarara City and URA’s Cromwell Rwothomio are some of the notable inclusions.

The team will start training on March 1st at Luzira.
