Ndejje University beat Kigezi HomeBoyz 3-0 at the Arena of Visions in Luweero on Saturday to register their second win of the season.

Nicholas Luzige, Erick Iyaleng and Brian Ssali scored the three goals for the University side.

Ndejje were on back of two consecutive draws attained last week in Mbarara against Nyamityobora and Terrazzo & Tiles and desperately needed to win to ressurrect their hopes for the playoffs.

Luzige fired the former UPL side into the lead with a volley in the 22nd minute of the game.

Steven Sande set up Iyaleng who doubled the lead with his first goal in the Ndejje colours at the hour mark.

Substitute Brian Ssali put the game beyond Kigezi’s reach with the third goal in the 84th minute. Ssali came on for Sande in the 60th minute.

The result elevated Ndejje University to the fourth place on 12 points leapfrogging Kigezi Homeboyz who are now fifth with 11 points accumulated from 10 games played.

Coached by Timothy Komakech, Ndejje are now two points behind Proline who occupy the second playoff place.

Kigezi will shift focus to their round of 16 second leg encounter of the Stanbic Uganda Cup where they will host BUL on Tuesday 25th May.
