Breidablik 3-1 Thor/KA

Sandra Nabweteme scored her first goal in the Iceland Pepsi Max Women’s League as her side Thor/KA lost 3-1 to Breidablik on Saturday evening.

Nabweteme struck Thor/KA’s only goal of the game in the 56th minute but it was not enough to secure at least a point.

Agla Maria Albertsdottir scored a brace and Tiffany Janea Mc Carty scored the other for the winning home side.

Nabweteme was withdrawn five minutes after scoring and was subsequently replaced by Hulda Osk Jonsdottir in a bid to level the scoreline which never happened.

The former Kawempe Muslim striker was marking her first start for Thor/KA since switching from the US in March.

She had previously featured in the club’s first two games coming off the bench. She made her debut in the 2-1 win over IBV Vestmannaeyjar and came on in the 80th minute in the 2-0 defeat to UMF/ Selfoss.

Nabweteme and teammates will return to action on Wednesday 19th when they host Stjarnan.

The Thor/KA women sit 7th on the league table of 10 teams having garnered three points from the first three games of the season.
